I have had it with Windows Internet Explorer – too slow.
I have had it with Firefox – on average 500,000k commit size and slows my pc to a halt.
I am now trying Chrome and actually, it’s only using 50,000k commit and my pc is flying…
What do you use? What else should I use or try?
Appreciate your feedback, thanks
This is a short sweet and simple post.
I just updated my iPlayer to the new desktop version and to my dismay, the video was choppy and did not play in time with the sound. The previous iPlayer worked fine for me. After reading forums and posts all over, nothing seemed to fix the problem. Then I did something very simple that fixed the issue instantly.
I closed firefox and internet explorer. Hey presto, no memory lag or any isues with the video.
Seems strange that BBC have launched something that sucks so much memory.
Ah well, thought i’d share this quick fix..
Don’t you just love getting these emails from The National Lottery:-
We have some exciting news about the ticket that you bought for the Friday 01 May draw.
Don’t you just hate it that you only won £6.20 when the jackpot was over £88m!
Just checking out the Ryanair website to see if any new route announcements or deals are out there as I need to fly back to London shortly. I noticed this:-
Ryanair, Europe’s largest low fares airline, today (8 Apr) announced that it received over 12,000 suggestions from passengers as part of the low fares airline’s competition to suggest a discretionary revenue charge which would help lower Ryanair’s costs and reduce its guaranteed lowest fares even further.
The top five suggestions are:
- €1 for toilet paper – with O’Leary’s face on it,
- €2 “corkage” fee for passengers who bring their own food,
- €5 annual subscription to access Ryanair.com,
- €3 to smoke in a converted toilet cubicle,
- Excess fees for overweight passengers based on body mass index.
I hope they select number 1 – what are the bets the competition is fixed, with choices 2 and 3 being those submitted by Ryanair? Cast your vote here
